"Just wanted to send a quick note to let you know how satisfied we are with our decision to go with Goldenrod Kennels for our first Llewellin Setter.

Born on July 4th, 2005, we got Jake from you at 10 weeks old. At 5 months Jake was pointing chukars and he was comfortable under the gun. Training Jake was a piece of cake. If the truth be told, we just took Jake to the field and he did the rest. We took our first cockbird off of Jake at 6 months and he’s been amazing ever since.

We took 22 out of 24 birds on a recent bird hunt in Northeast Ohio on March 7th, 2007. You just can’t beat numbers like that, and all from a dog that’s not even 2 years old yet.

Not only is Jake a great pointer, he’s a well-minded house dog and is great around children.

We will definitely get our next Llewellin Setter from Goldenrod Kennels.

"Bella has a lot of promise. She is 5 months old and points birds in the back yard regularly. We are beginning to work on some basic obedience tasks now like COME and NO and SIT. "I just wanted to drop you a line on how Laycee is coming along.  I included a few pictures,  two were taken at 2/3 mos. and the rest were taken at 4/5 mos.  As you can see, she has transitioned into our family quite well.  Not only is Laycee a cuddlier, but she has a great instinct for birds.  Our concern of our older dog, which is also a llewellin setter, and her getting along was never an issue, as you can see in the pictures.  She is completely housebroken and crate trained.  I have appreciated all of your concern and advice from the beginning.  Laycee is everything I hoped for and more!

"This may sound unbelievable, but ever since I purchased our llewellin setter at 8 weeks old in May of 2005, he has consistently proven to be an outstanding bird dog.

I didn't think he'd be ready to hunt until late in the season that first year, however, at 10 weeks old he was pointing a wing; at 6 months he was pointing quail and at 7 months we got our first pheasant.

Our llewellin setter is an extremely hard working, gentle and good natured dog who loves to hunt birds. I couldn't be more pleased with him. When I'm ready for the next pup, it will definitely be another Goldenrod Kennels Llewellin Setter."

One thing people should be aware of is that nature and people like good looking things better than ugly things. I reviewed about 40 Llewellin kennels before I selected Goldenrod. My decision was made on based on your bloodlines in your dogs, not the finances involved.

Yes, I was making a trip to Ohio anyway, but before I looked at Goldenrod, I considered side trips to Oregon, Oklahoma, Minnesota & Michigan kennels, I am glad I made the decision for your kennel, and I would be more than willing to be a reference for any future customers you have."
